This exciting lottery has a rolling jackpot that starts at $2 million, and that amount increases every rollover until some lucky ticket holder wins. Tickets only cost $1 per play, with an extra option to choose the All Star Bonus for another $1, where you could potentially multiply non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4, or 5 times.
The current version of Lotto America was revived in 2017, before that, it was first launched in 1988 and ran until 1992! This lottery was introduced to DC in October 2025. There are nine different prize tiers that you can potentially win from, and if you hit the jackpot then you can take home a lump sum payment, or as 30 payments over 29 years. The choice is yours!
Draws are held three times a well, every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, giving you three chances to win big.

How to Play
To get started, you'll need to select five numbers from 1 - 52, along with one Star Ball number from 1 - 10. If you're stuck for choice, you can always use the Quick Pick option.
You can join in any of the three draws that are held weekly; Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, at 10:15 pm Eastern Time. Just make sure that you buy your tickets before the cut-off, which is usually an hour before the draw time.
If you want to enter the All Star Bonus, you can do this for an additional $1. If you win, your non-jackpot prize will be multiplied by the All Star Bonus number, up to five times the amount! This is randomly selected at the time of the main draw.
There are nine prize tiers that you can win from. If you match all six numbers needed to win the jackpot, you can choose to take the annuity option or a small lump sum amount.
You need to be 18 or older to purchase a Lotto America ticket or claim a prize.

How to Claim a DC Lotto America Prize
Congratulations on winning your Lotto America prize! To successfully claim your prize, follow these steps.
Before anything else, remember to sign the back of your ticket and keep it in a safe place.
You have 180 days from the date of winning to claim your prize before it expires.
All prizes may be claimed by mail, or via one of the following options.
Wins of up to $600 may be cashed at a retailer or the DC Lottery Prize Center. If you've won more than $600 and up to $5,000, head over to a Retailer Plus location or the Prize Center. And if you've been lucky enough to win over $5,000, you'll need to visit the Prize Center in person.
Lotto America prizes are income and if the amount is above $5,000, Federal and District tax withholdings apply.
